Your Guide to Asian Stores & Ingredients

Holiday Cheese Ball w/ Asian Twist

This Holiday Cheese Ball recipe with an Asian twist is perfect for the busy bee who needs something special to bring to a potluck! All you have to do is mix all the ingredients together, roll it into a ball, roll it around some toppings, and you’re good to go!!

When I tried my first cheese ball, I was first surprised by how tasty it was, then by how easy it was to make!! So then, of course, I had to create my own with an Asian Twist. Would you expect anything else from me?  The furikake and fried shallots are optional, but everything else is vital in my opinion. You can use fish sauce, soy sauce, or Worcestershire sauce for that extra umami flavor. Let me know if you try it!!

This is a cheese ball that can be dipped into with crackers or veggies!

  • Reserve a couple tbsp of each for coating

  1. Mix everything together in your mixer or by hand (remember to leave cream cheese out for an hour to soften beforehand)
  2. Shape the mixture into a ball and roll around on the cheese, bacon, and green onion mixture to coat the outside
  3. Serve with Ritz crackers, bagel chips, or veggies like cucumber or bell pepper

  • You can make this a day beforehand and store in fridge. Remove a little bit before serving so cream cheese can soften a bit or serve with a butter/cheese knife.
