Bacon “Chili Oil” Pasta

Bacon “Chili Oil” Pasta is a savory and decadent dish that is reserved for those days I just feel like indulging! The chewiness of the linguini pairs perfectly with the rich and spicy sauce.

I love borrowing from different cuisines to create brand new dishes like this one. A marriage of two cultures is a beautiful thing, especially when it tastes this good! It’s super simple too.

First, I recommend cooking your bacon pieces in water which prevents fat from splattering everywhere. Once the water evaporates, the bacon will start crisping up! Then we’ll take the fat that is rendered and pour it over some chili flakes to release the flavor: bacon “chili oil.”

The sauce is pretty classic Asian sauce with oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and vinegar. And instead of using fresh garlic, I am obsessed with using Jus Garlic. Not only is it delicious, but it’s so much more convenient than peeling and mincing tons of garlic. Mention me and get 10% off your order!

Ingredients

    Stir fry

  • Chili “oil”

  • Sauce

Instructions

  1. Boil water for pasta. If you want extra flavor, you can salt the pasta water.
  2. Chop bacon, place in a large sauté pan, cover with a little bit of water. Turn temp on high until the water starts to boil, and then turn the heat down to medium-low. Continue cooking & stirring until bacon is crispy to your liking.
  3. Prepare linguini “al dente” according to the package while the bacon is cooking.
  4. Mix together the ingredients for the sauce in a small bowl.
  5. Put chili flakes in a small heat-proof bowl. Once the bacon is crispy, pour the fat and bacon over the chili flakes to release the flavor.
  6. Put the pan back on the heat. Add butter and crispy garlic (LINK TO JUS GARLIC). Cook for 30-60 seconds.
  7. Add the sauce and give it a mix. Remove pasta from the pot, shake off a little excess water, and add directly into the pan. Give it a good mix and serve. To make it more filling, you can add an egg on top!
